I'm a very quirky, out of the ordinary person, so having a slice of blue cake atop peoples heads just seemed like the right thing to encourage

By the way, the "whipped cream" on top is a cotton ball, and the "cherry" is 4 buttons glued together and a piece of red electrical wire for the stem
